News from the Coach House
The people had spent 15 years looking after themselves and deciding not to finish the temple in Jerusalem as they had been instructed.
In fact, God had some pretty strong words for the people spoken via Haggai (Don’t have much fun these prophets do they!)
We haven’t been idle in these days of separation and isolation. The church building may be empty and unable to be used, but we look forward with great anticipation to the day when we can join together in worship
..... Until then we have used the time to get in and do some work!
Many of you will be aware that we have had a cherry picker on site to remove the ‘old sign’ and to repair and refurbish some of the high spots around the building.
It has been hard work….but great fun…. Especially as we have set about the work with a purpose… to make sure that the building is in the best shape possible to welcome you all back, but more importantly, to make sure that we have a building that reflects the ethic of the church family …you!
God is the focal point of the ‘Church’, but the building and the our church family is the focal point of the community that God has placed us in…. we should want ‘the house’ to be in the best condition we can make it, because it stands in a community that sees it!
Just as the temple in Jerusalem was supposed to honour the Lord, and be a sign/focal point for both the people of Israel and the nations around, so it is with us.
I’ve shared some photos that we have taken during the high work on our facebook page…. But it hasn’t stopped there.
Inside is being transformed as well (there is another blog right there!)
These have been strange times and whatever the reason for them, we shouldn’t use them as an excuse to grow apart. The amazing thing during these times of ‘zoom church’ and ‘beacon’ production, has been that it somehow feels more connected, rather than less?
We cannot wait to welcome you back to the ‘Coach House’ , but in the meantime, lets use our time wisely and be productive in personal relationship and remaining connected to our family.
We will be seeing you very soon.
Stay Safe, Stay Well , Be Blessed!
